asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if his attention has been drawn to the objections expressed by the National Trust for Scotland and other bodies to the plans for developing George Square, Edinburgh; what consideration he has given to these objections; and if he will make a statement.

I am in touch on this matter with various bodies including the National Trust, the University of Edinburgh, and Edinburgh Town Council as local planning authority, and I have no statement to make at present.
