HC Deb 04 November 1959 vol 612 c51W
77. Mr. Dodds

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what progress has been made towards settling the fishing dispute with Iceland; and what are the prospects in this respect.

Mr. R. Allan

The position is still as stated in my hon. Friend's reply to the hon. and learned Member for Aberdeen, North (Mr. Hector Hughes) on 13th July. The prospects of a settlement depend on the Icelandic Government's willingness to respond to our invitations to negotiate.
