HC Deb 04 November 1959 vol 612 cc54-5W
92. Mr. W. W. Hamilton

asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty what progress has been made in the improvements of houses in Crombie, Fife; and what will be the effect of such improvements on the level of rents.

Mr. C. Ian Orr-Ewing

Of these Admiralty houses to be improved, eight of the first batch of nine have been completed and the ninth will complete at the end of this week. Work on a further five will begin immediately after. These improvements will result in an increase in rent between 6s. 5d. and 7s. 10d. a week depending on the cost and nature of the conversions.
