§ Mr. Viantasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many persons over 21 years of age have contracted poliomyelitis in Scotland during the last 20 years; how many of the cases have been paralytic; and how many have died from poliomyelitis.
§ Mr. MaclayThe figures are given for age 25 and over as figures by reference to age 21 are not available. No distinction can be made between paralytic and non-paralytic forms of the disease as separate notifications were only required in Scotland from 1st January, 1959.
