asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will restore the value of the tourist allowance to approximately the same purchasing power as it had in France and Switzerland in 1946, when it was fixed at £75, by raising it from £100 to £125 for the year beginning October next.

I cannot yet make a statement about the travel allowance for the next tourist year.
