asked the Minster of Labour to what extent it is the policy of his Department to offer to registered disabled workers vacancies for employment as itinerant vendors of carpets or other commodities from door to door at payment of small wages or commission.

Mr. Wood

The general policy of my Department is to submit registered disabled persons for any vacancies which appear to be well suited to their capabilities. It is recognised, however, that special care is needed in dealing with vacancies for canvassers and agents, whether fit or disabled applicants are concerned. Unless the employer is known to the Department, appropriate inquiries are made; and if a vacancy offering commission is brought to the notice of an applicant, he is informed of this fact at the Outset
