HC Deb 26 March 1959 vol 602 c177W
Commander Pursey

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he will consider the claims of Hull, in the same way as the Tyne, for naval repair work, owing to the falling off in merchant ship repairs causing unemployment on the River Humber.

Mr. T. G. D. Galbraith

The amount of naval repair work which is not carried out in the Royal Dockyards is now very limited. The claims of the Humber will be considered along with other ship-repair districts as and when it becomes necessary for ship repairs to be done by contract.
