HC Deb 26 March 1959 vol 602 c174W
79. Mr. Russell

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what report he has now received from the Middlesex County Council on the measures to prevent flooding in Wembley caused by the overflowing of the Wealdstone and Wembley brooks and the River Brent, in view of the agreement he has given to their scheme for flood prevention.

Mr. H. Brooke

I understand that work is about to begin on the Wealdstone Brook scheme, and work to the value of £25,000 on the River Brent in Ealing should be started shortly. The complete scheme for the River Brent is still in its early stages and has not yet been approved.

I have received no complaints about the Wembley Brook, but am told that the county council is going to carry out minor works on this watercourse.
