ButlerThe Commission has made no report but has given me notice, under Section 2 (4) of the House of Commons (Redistribution of Scats) Act, 1949, of its intention to consider making a report under Section 2 (3) of the Act with respect to the Gateshead, West constituency, among others. The next step in the procedure laid down by the Act is for the Commission to publish its proposals locally and invite representations with respect to them, in accordance with paragraph 3 of Part III of the First Schedule to the Act; and I understand that it will at the same time send copies to all hon. Members whose constituencies are affected.
