HC Deb 19 March 1959 vol 602 c63W
78. Mr. Osborne

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce legislation to enable all shops in seaside places, which have a very short season, to open on more Sundays a year, and so recoup some of the losses they have incurred in recent seasons owing to the bad weather.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I regret that I can hold out no prospect at present of Government legislation on this matter.
