asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies (1) how many monkeys, and what types, have been exported from Tanganyika during 1957 and 1958; and to what countries they were sent, giving the numbers and types sent to each country, respectively;

(2) how many monkeys, and what types, have been exported from Tanganyika during the first two months of 1959; and to what countries they were sent.

In 1957, 13 vervet monkeys were consigned to Kenya dealers and two baboons were exported to New York Zoo. In 1958, four vervet monkeys were exported to German zoos, four Sykes monkeys to Japanese zoos and 52 vervet monkeys to Kenya. No monkeys were exported in the first two months of 1959.
