§ 46. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Prime Minister what instructions have been issued to Departments regarding the accompanying of Ministers abroad on official missions by their wives.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI have been asked to reply.
No instructions have been issued as to whether Ministers may or may not take their wives with them on official missions abroad. My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister decides in each case, on its individual merits, whether it is desirable in the public interest that a Minister's wife should travel at public expense.
