§ Mr. A. Evansasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will state the action being taken by the Metropolitan Police to deal with unlicensed motor vehicles left on the public highways.

ButlerI am informed by the Commissioner of Police that when obstruction is caused or some other offence is committed the police take appropriate action against the owner if he can be traced. The police have power to remove from the highway any vehicle which appears to have been abandoned, and exercise that power as far as practicable.
