§ Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why no charge was made against Captain Ernest Law on 18th January, 1958, before an order was made under the Vagrancy Ordinance.
§ Mr. J. Amery,pursuant to his reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 12th February, 1959; Vol. 599, c. 1334–5], supplied the following information:
No charge was made against Captain Law, because he was not being prosecuted for any offence. The court was, of course, informed of the reasons for his appearance.
