HC Deb 02 March 1959 vol 601 cc14-5W
81. Dr. Stross

asked the Minister of Labour what evidence he has that the firing of pottery containing china stone as a constituent, causes fluorine compounds to be emitted; and how far these have been shown to cause any specific illness to workers in the industry.

Mr. Wood

The emission of fluorine compounds in this process has been confirmed during investigations by Her Majesty's Factory Inspectorate which are still in progress. I have no evidence of ill-health from this cause among workers in the industry.
