Mr. Parkerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will direct the Forestry Commission to explore the possibility of giving financial assistance, as done in Argyll, to a private firm in order to build a modern saw-mill at Brandon, Suffolk, capable of handling softwood timber likely to come from the Breckland forests in the near future.
§ Mr. GodberThe Forestry Commission does consider matters of this kind in the normal course of its duties, but I will see that the hon. Member's suggestion is brought to its notice.
