§ 98. Mr. Awberyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that a number of civil servants have only half of their unestablished period of service calculated when their pensions are made up; and if he will take steps to include the full period of service in the calculation, whether established or unestablished, in view of the improved state of the national finances.
§ Mr. SimonMy right hon. Friend is aware of the position; but he does not feel justified in asking for a change in the law, for reasons given in a letter which he has just sent to the Staff Side of the Civil Service National Whitley Council and of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy.
