I have now received the views of the Bishop of London and the Moderator of the Free Church Federal Council, both 82W of whom feel that a crib should be permitted. In addition, the police authorities advise me that they would not now wish to oppose the application. I am therefore informing the Vicar of St. Martin-in-the-Fields that I am willing to allow a crib to be placed in the Square next Christmas.
