asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, as representing the Lord President of the Council, whether he will make a statement on the new superannuation scheme for scientific staffs in the grant-aided institutes of the Agricultural Research Council.

The possibility of introducing a new contributory superannuation scheme covering scientific and other staffs in the grant-aided institutes of the Agricultural Research Council is under consideration. The proposed scheme would relate pension and other benefits to an officer's length of service and average salary on retirement.
