62. Mr. Creech Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps are being taken in working out the present land policy in Kenya to prevent the exposure of Africans in their land units to speculators who seek to acquire the land and thereby increase the number of landless Africans.
§ Mr. J. AmeryDivisional and Provincial Boards, consisting mainly of local8W Africans, will have full powers to control all transfers of interest in the native lands and to prevent undesirable speculation; in exercising these powers they will be subject to the general or special directions of the Governor.
