Dame Irene Wardasked the Minister of Health whether he will bring into operation forthwith the agreement reached on the Nurses and Midwives Whitley Council to enable experienced nurses entering the Public Health Service for the first time to have credit on the appropriate salary scale for past nursing service instead of being placed on the minimum scale as at present.
§ Mr. Walker-SmithThis is one of a number of changes agreed in the course of a comprehensive revision of conditions of service which is not yet complete, but I understand the Council is considering whether to introduce it specially.
