§ 74. Mr. Parkinasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that the definition of a fair price contained in paragraph 4 of his Department's Circular No. 8/50 of 6th October, 1950, has given rise to doubt; and whether he will issue a further circular to all Departments in clarification.
§ Mr. SimonMy right hon. Friend is aware of an ambiguity in the definition of a fair price. On the other hand, the Circular is correctly understood by all the Departments concerned; and as consideration is still being given to ways of helping the priority suppliers to get more Government work my right hon. Friend does not propose to issue a clarifying circular at this stage.
