§ 77. Mr. F. Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what consultations he has had with local authorities and with other Government Departments regarding outdoor advertisements on or in the vicinity of ancient monuments and historic buildings.
§ Mr. H. BrookeThe local planning authorities concerned are under an obligation to consult my right hon. Friend the Minister of Works before determining applications for consent to display advertisements which would be sited within a quarter of a mile of a number of ancient monuments and historic buildings and would be readily visible from on in conjunction with them. This is in accordance with a direction issued by one of my predecessors after consultation with the then Minister of Works.
