§ 61. Mr. G. Thomas
asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will state the amount of compensation paid by the Seychelles administration to Mr. Brisbane, the reasons for the payment, and the basis on which the calculation of compensation was made.
§ Mr. J. Amery
In 1954, Mr. Brisbane entered an agreement with the Seychelles Government for the installation of a new electric power supply. These plans were subsequently abandoned and Mr. Brisbane brought a claim against the Seychelles Government in respect of the 147W liabilities he had incurred. In settlement of his claim he accepted the sum of £2,100 from the Seychelles Government.
