HC Deb 22 January 1959 vol 598 c56W
Sir J. Hutchison

asked the Prime Minister whether he is now in a position to make a statement on the conclusion of an agreement between this country and Euratom.

The Prime Minister

Yes. The text of an agreement has now been approved by Her Majesty's Government and by the Euratom Commission and Council. The members of the Euratom Commission will visit the United Kingdom from the 4th until the 6th of February as guests of Her Majesty's Government, and the agreement will be signed then.

The agreement, which will he laid before Parliament immediately after signature, provides the framework for development of close co-operation between institutions and private industry in the United Kingdom and in the European Atomic Energy Community.
