§ Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what is the number of medical officers in Uganda and the number of other qualified medical practitioners practising in the Protectorate.
§ Mr. J. Amery,pursuant to his reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 17th February, 1959; Vol. 600, c. 37], supplied the following further information:
The total number of medical officers in Uganda is 174, of whom 11 are licensed practitioners and 20 are other qualified staff (pathologists, entomologists, dental surgeons and pharmacists). Other qualified medical practitioners number 281, of whom 41 are licensed and the remainder registered.
