§ 76. Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Labour what is the increase in the number of registered unemployed of men, women, boys and girls, respectively, in the borough of Leyton and district today compared with a year ago; and what is the average period of this unemployment.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodOn 12th January there were 347 more men, 34 more boys, 31 fewer women and 10 more girls registered as unemployed than a year earlier. Average periods of unemployment are not available but of 1,382 wholly unemployed, on 12th January, 512 had been unemployed for not more than two weeks, 294 for two to eight weeks, and 576 for more than eight weeks.
