HC Deb 18 February 1959 vol 600 c71W
118. Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state the outcome of the official talks with the Eireann Government on restricted Japanese textiles made up into garments in Eire and imported into Great Britain in increasing quantities.

Mr. Vaughan-Morgan

Member for Bolton, West (Mr. Holt) yesterday when I explained that arrangements to limit exports to this country of garments made from woven cotton materials imported from Japan and Sovietbloc countries will come into force on the 1st March.
