§ Mr. Iain MacleodI have had a table prepared showing the numbers of men, boys, women and girls registered as unemployed at every Employment Exchange and Youth Employment Office in the Northern Region at 12th January. As the table is a very extensive one I am sending it to the hon. Member. I regret that it is not possible to undertake the very large amount of work that would be involved in computing percentage rates of unemployment for each area for the period to which the hon. Member refers, but I am sending him a second table showing the percentages rates for the Northern Region and for Great Britain as a whole for each month since September, 1957.
