§ 72. Mr. Younger
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what assurances were received from the Icelandic Government before Her Majesty's ships consented to the arrest of the Grimsby trawler "Valafell" off the coast of Iceland by an Icelandic vessel; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Profumo
No assurances were sought or received by Her Majesty's Government. The decision whether or not to allow the trawler "Valafell" to proceed to an Icelandic port was one that only the owners could take.
