§ 80. Mr. Janner
asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs, how many families other than problem families are at present in institutions owing to their inability to secure housing accommodation according to their means; and whether he will consider recommending the housing of such families through halfway houses as recommended by the report published in 1955 by his Department.
§ Mr. H. Brooke
I am advised by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health that the information asked for in the first part of the Question is not available. As to the second part, my right hon. Friend and I will shortly be issuing a joint circular to all local authorities reviewing the problems of homeless families and making suggestions for improving the arrangements for dealing with them.
