asked the Paymaster-General if he will now state the number of claims received for compensation for damage done by mining subsidence under the Coal Mining (Subsidence) Act, 1957, the number of claims admitted, the number of claims rejected, and the total amount paid out up to and including 31st December, 1958, since July, 1957, when the Act became operative.

The National Coal Board is responsible for dealing with claims under the Coal Mining (Subsidence) Act, 1957, and I am asking the chairman of the Board to writ to the hon. Member.
