§ 94. Mr. Awberyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware of the growing disquiet in the Island of Malta; what is the cause of it; and what 44W new steps are being taken to prevent it growing to unmanageable proportions.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydI am aware of what is being done in Malta to stimulate and organise resistance to H.M.G.'s policy for the islands, but I have every confidence that the good sense of the Maltese people will prevent the consequences that the hon. Member fears. On the last part of this Question, I have nothing to add to what was said by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary and myself in yesterday's debate on the Second Reading of the Malta (Letters Patent) Bill.
