asked the Minister of Health what provision has been made in the financial allocations for 1959–60 for the building of a new accident unit and for the improvement of the general medical and surgical wards at the Newcastle General Hospital.

None, but the Regional Hospital Board is planning a new casualty department which it hopes to begin to build during 1960.
