§ Mr. Oswaldasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many families and how many persons have been evacuated from the unsafe buildings in Beaumont Place, Dalrymple Place, Grass-market and Dumbiedykes Road in the city of Edinburgh during the past five weeks.
§ Mr. MaclayThe Corporation informs me that 105 families comprising 335 persons have been moved from unsafe houses in Beaumont Place, Dalrymple Place and Dumbiedykes Road in the period. About a dozen families were evacuated from the building in Grass-market; these were, however, allowed to return almost at once after emergency 251W repairs had been done by the Corporation, and the number of persons involved is not known.
