§ Mr. Edenasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what steps he has taken to encourage the planting this season of suitable trees and shrubs in housing estates, parks and cemeteries owned by local authorities.
§ Sir K. JosephMy right hon. Friend published about a year ago "Trees in Town and City" and drew the attention of all local authorities to it. This book —a copy of which I am sending to my hon. Friend—shows how housing estates and other parts of towns can be improved by tree planting, and, although it does not deal expressly with parks and cemeteries, much of what it says, in particular about choice of species, applies to them.
