asked the Minister of Health, as representing the Minister for Science, what progress has been made by the Medical Research Council on research into the prevention and cure of chronic bronchitis.

Mr. Walker-Smith

The Medical Research Council is continuing investigations into the causes of chronic bronchitis with a view to developing effective methods of prevention. Trials are also being undertaken to assess the value of different kinds of treatment and the results are published as they become available.
