Williamsasked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to a resolution sent to him by the Manchester, Salford and District Council of Churches, regarding the growing number of deaths and injuries 168W on the roads; and what reply he proposes to make to the Council's suggestion that a Royal Commission be appointed to consider how the level of casualties can be substantially reduced.
§ Mr. HayWe are greatly concerned at the number of deaths and injuries on the roads, but we are not satisfied that a Royal Commission on Road Accidents would be a suitable means of dealing with the problem at present.
