Mr. Thornton

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what was the number of court convictions in Hong Kong arising out of breaches of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and Regulations in each of the first three quarters of 1959 and in each of the corresponding quarters of 1958 and 1957; and what was the percentage of convictions, in respect of each quarter, which arose out of breaches of the regulations governing hours of work of women and young persons.
