§ Mr. J. AmeryThere are no age statistics to answer the first part of the Question. As regards the second part, on 30th June, 1958, there were 3,922 African pupils at secondary schools and 1,114 at technical and vocational institutions. There were also 73,704 Africans receiving intermediate education, without a grammar or technical bias, most of whom were probably over 11, and a number of special schools.
