HC Deb 30 April 1959 vol 604 cc160-1W
74. Mr. Bottomley

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what proposals were discussed during the recent Anglo-French talks between the United Kingdom Prime Minister and the French Prime Minister on the need for economic aid to provide economic essentials in Africa, to bring more Africans to visit Great Britain and France and to expand educational facilities, including university training in Africa.

Mr. R. Allan

The conversations which my right hon. Friend had with the French Prime Minister were confidential, and I am not at liberty to disclose them. I can however, assure the right hon. Member that there is a regular exchange with the French authorities on the important matters to which he refers.
