asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs which countries have already appointed committees to co-operate in the organisation of a World Refugee Year, or announced their intention of doing so; and by whom the coordination of their work will be undertaken.

Committees have been formed in the following countries:

  • Canada.
  • Costa Rica.
  • Federal German Republic.
  • France.
  • Greece.
  • Iran.
  • New Zealand.
  • Norway.
  • United Kingdom.
  • United States of America.

Committees are in process of being formed in the following:

  • Austria.
  • Belgium.
  • Colombia.
  • Israel.
  • Italy.
  • Malaya.
  • Netherlands.
  • Switzerland.
  • Turkey.

The co-ordination of their work is being undertaken by the Special Representative for World Refugee Year of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Monsieur Claude de Kemoularia.
