OwenMr. asked the Minister of Education what Government grants for foreign travel are available for university students; what similar grants are available to students at teachers' training colleges; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydState scholars reading modern languages who are required by their universities to study abroad may receive up to £15 for travelling costs for each visit. Grants are also available for training college students intending to teach French who, at the end of their initial training, attend a course lasting nine months at the Institut Brittanique, in Paris.
