§ 49. Mr. Lewisasked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been drawn to the statement made in London on 17th April, 1959, by Mr. S. F. Anfimov, Deputy Trade Representative of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics 60W in Great Britain, concerning trade between the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the United Kingdom; and, as the United Kingdom is almost the only country in Europe without a trade agreement with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, what further action he proposes to take to negotiate a trade agreement; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Sir D. EcclesI would refer the hon. Member to the statement I made after Questions on the 21st April.
