HC Deb 22 April 1959 vol 604 cc44-5W
48. Mr. Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will represent to the United States authorities the difficulties of rescuing by helicopter American airmen wrecked in the sea, in view of the fact that such pilots are attached to their dinghies by ropes and consequently the weight is too heavy to allow the helicopter to rise.

Mr. Neave

Our investigation into the accident which the hon. Member has in mind is not yet complete. Measures to overcome the difficulties which were experienced will need to be considered in the light of the findings.
