asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will give an assurance that in any discussions of financial support for the replacement of the "Queens" he will enter into no arrangement which does not ensure that the two ships are built on separate rivers, such as the Tyne and the Clyde, thus ensuring a spread of employment in the shipyards.

The Government are at present awaiting the detailed proposals of the Cunard Company, but my hon. Friend's point will be borne in mind.
