HC Deb 26 November 1958 vol 596 c47W
75. Mr. Chapman

asked the Postmaster-General what interval must elapse between any two periods of advertisements in programmes of the Independent Television Authority, under the rules agreed upon by the Authority and himself.

Mr. K. Thompson

The rule is that however short the time may be between any natural breaks in a programme the interval between any two consecutive periods given over to advertisements shall in no circumstances be less than three minutes. This rule, however, is bound up with others relating to the permissible amount of advertising and they must all be taken together.
