Recognizing the efforts which the United Kingdom Government have made, by means of international negotiations and by administrative measures in the island itself, to find a solution to the problem acceptable to all the parties concerned, and in accord with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, Noting with regret that it has not yet proved possible to reach agreement on such a solution;

  1. 1. Invites the United Kingdom Government to continue their efforts to arrive at such a solution and invites the other parties to co-operate to this end;
  2. 2. Calls upon all concerned to use their best endeavours to put an end to terrorism and violence in Cyprus."
