§ Mr. Patrick Maitlandasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) how many road accidents involving personal injury, with or without fatalities, have occurred in the Bloomgate, Lanark, since the war;
(2) if he is satisfied with the road safety precautions in the Bloomgate, Lanark; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MaclaySince 1st January, 1949, the earliest date from which records are available, there have been in the Bloom-gate, Lanark, six accidents involving injury, one of which was fatal, and 25 collisions not involving personal injury. The possibility of undertaking a major improvement at this point is being investigated, but I cannot say when it may be possible to put it in hand.
