§ Mr. Patrick Maitlandasked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of road accidents, including the number of fatalities, which have occurred on the Glasgow—Carlisle road in the village of Crawford since the war; and whether the road safety precautions in that village are, in his view, satisfactory.
§ Mr. MaclaySince 1st January, 1949, the earliest date from which records are174W available, there have been 34 accidents in the village of Crawford involving three fatalities and injury to 31 persons, and 172 collisions not involving personal injury. I am satisfied that all reasonable steps have been taken to improve road conditions in the village.
